Do you have to brown the ground beef before putting it in the Suvie? It doesn’t specify? The picture looks like the ground beef is already ground before doing the broiling process.

Hi Nicole, you do not have to brown the beef before putting it in your Suvie. The broiling step will brown the beef before Slow Cooking. Hope this helps and let us know how the recipe turns out!

Nicole. Yes. Yes indeed you MUST brown the meat and drain the oil.

Hi Lola, sorry you didn’t enjoy this recipe. Added salt in the refried beans or taco seasoning may contribute to an overall salty flavor.

Am I missing it somehow, or does this recipe not include the cook setting for the top Suvie zone (the refried beans)?

Hi Jesse, Suvie always applies the same time and temperature when slow cooking so the bottom settings are always applied to the top zone. This way you don’t have to enter the settings twice. Both zones will get hot and cook. Hope that clarifies the slow cook settings!
