Chicken with Lemon Herb Pasta

Our lemon herb sauce is light and bright, packed with herbs and fresh flavor. This delicious sauce makes the perfect accompaniment to tender penne pasta, juicy chicken breasts, sweet green peas, and umami-rich Parmesan cheese. Note: This recipe requires Suvie 2.0 and the Suvie Starch Cooker.

Suvie Cook Settings

Bottom Zone: Sous Vide at 155 °F for 30 minutes for 2 servings, 45 minutes for 4 servings

Top Zone: Steam at 250 °F for 30 minutes for 2 servings, 30 minutes for 4 servings 

Select YES from frozen when preparing a Suvie Meal. 

Starch Cooker Settings 

Set Starch Cooker to pasta mode and set for 10 minutes. To prepare the pasta without the Suvie Starch Cooker, cook pasta in a large pot of salted water for 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz lemon herb sauce
  • 10 oz green peas
  • 12 oz chicken breasts
  • 4 oz penne pasta
  • 0.5 oz parmesan cheese

Directions

1) Pour green peas into a Suvie pan.

2) Do not open the chicken packages! Place chicken into a Suvie pan and cover completely with water.

3) Do not open the lemon herb sauce packages! Place lemon herb sauce in pan with the chicken.

4) Place a strainer into the pasta pot (green handles) and pour in penne pasta. Add a generous amount of salt. Do not add water! Cover with pot lid, place into your starch cooker and close the door.

5) Load green peas into the top zone of Suvie and chicken and lemon herb sauce into the bottom zone. Input settings and choose Cook Now, Schedule or Refrigerate (please be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen). Follow prompts on both appliances.

Starch Cooker Settings 

Set Starch Cooker to pasta mode and set for 10 minutes.

6) When cook is complete, ​​carefully remove pan (it will be hot!) with chicken from Suvie. Remove chicken from packaging, discard liquid and pat dry. Reserve lemon herb sauce (in package). 

7) Place chicken into a dry Suvie pan and return pan to the bottom zone of your Suvie.

8) Pour green peas into a bowl and carefully stir in lemon herb sauce. 

9) Confirm 5 minute broil time on Suvie screen for the chicken. Close Suvie door and select “Start Broil.”

10) After the broil, remove penne from starch cooker and combine with the lemon herb and green pea mixture.

11) Divide penne and green peas between plates and top with the chicken. Garnish with parmesan cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper.

What’s the broil time? My Suvie says 0. There’s no reason to not publish the times.

Hi Scott, the broil is an optional step. We set it at 0 so that you can decide how long you’d like to broil.

That doesn’t sound correct for the sousvide recipes. You have a couple steps on the recipe card just for an optional broil, that doesn’t make sense. Every cook had the broil in the end, this specifically draws attention to it. It really sounds like this recipe was intended to have a broil time to finish off the chicken.

Hi Scott, you’re right, the broil time for the chicken should be 5 minutes. Apologies. I’ve updated the recipe to reflect the 5 minute broil.
