Meatballs and marinara are about as classic a dish as they come. Add to them a bed of tender farfalle pasta, a side of sweet green peas, and a sprinkle of savory Parmesan cheese, and you’ve got yourself a five star meal. We think this meal is so delicious and satisfying that the whole family will love it. Note: This recipe requires Suvie 2.0 and the Suvie Starch Cooker

Suvie Cook Settings

Bottom Zone: Sous Vide at 155°F for 30 minutes for 2 servings, 45 minutes for 4 servings

Top Zone: Steam at 250°F for 30 minutes for 2 servings, 30 minutes for 4 servings 

Starch Cooker Settings 

Set Starch Cooker to pasta mode and set for 11 minutes.

Select YES from frozen when preparing a Suvie Meal.

Marinara Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 3 oz green peas
  • 12 oz meatballs
  • 6 oz marinara sauce
  • 4 oz farfalle
  • 0.5 oz parmesan cheese

Directions

1) Pour green peas into a Suvie pan.

2) Do not open the meatball package! Place meatballs into a Suvie pan and cover completely with water.

3) Cut open marinara sauce packages and squeeze out of packaging so it rests on top of green peas.

4) Place the pasta strainer into the pasta pot (green handles) and pour in farfalle pasta. Add a generous amount of salt. Do not add water! Cover pot with lid, place into your Suvie Starch Cooker, and close the door.

5) Load green peas into the top zone of Suvie and meatballs into the bottom zone. Input settings and choose Cook Now, Schedule or Refrigerate (please be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen). Follow prompts on both appliances.

Starch Cooker Settings 

Set Starch Cooker to pasta mode and set for 11 minutes.

6) When cook is complete, ​​carefully remove pan (it will be hot!) with meatballs from Suvie. Remove meatballs from packaging, pat dry and discard liquid.

7) Place meatballs in a dry Suvie pan and return to bottom zone of your Suvie.

8) Confirm 7 minute broil time on Suvie screen. Close Suvie door and select “Start Broil.”

9) Pour green peas and marinara sauce into a bowl and stir to combine.

10) After the broil is complete, remove farfalle from starch cooker and combine with the green pea marinara sauce mixture.

10) Divide farfalle, green peas and marinara between plates. Top with meatballs, garnish with parmesan cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper.

….”confirm broil times”….my appliance just said 0. Some clear directions on here would be helpful.

Hi Sam, broiling is an optional step. You can broil if you’d like to add additional color and flavor to the meatballs. Five to 10 minutes of broiling would work well, but is up to your personal preference.
