Meal Card: Slow Cook Short Ribs with Roasted Potatoes

This hearty and delicious meal is pure comfort food on a plate. Slow cooked beef short ribs are braised until tender and are combined with flavorful herb-roasted potatoes. You can use red wine or water to dilute the demi-glace and create a rich sauce for slow cooking the beef. Please note this recipe requires 3-4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, which is not included with your order.

Slow Cook Short Ribs with Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 24 oz short ribs
  • 1 oz demi-glace 
  • 1 oz corn starch
  • 2 X 10 oz potatoes 

Directions

1) Cut open short ribs and place into a Suvie pan.

2) In a bowl or measuring cup, whisk together ½ cup red wine (or water), demi-glace reduction, and cornstarch. Pour the mixture over the short ribs.

3) Pour the potatoes into a Suvie pan and top with 3-4 tbsp of cubed butter. 

4) Load the short ribs into the top zone of Suvie and the potatoes into the bottom zone. Input settings and cook now. Alternatively, you can store or schedule the meal in the Suvie (please be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen).

5) When the cook is complete, divide the food between plates and drizzle with sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
