Spicy Italian Sausages with Cherry Tomatoes and Pasta

Five ingredients and ten minutes of prep time is all that’s required for this delicious weeknight meal. Italian sausages are packed with flavor, making them our go-to ingredient when we’re short on time, but want maximum flavor. Substitute sweet Italian sausages if you would prefer.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz bowtie, penne, ziti, or rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb hot Italian Sausage
  • 1 lb cherry tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

1) Place 8 oz pasta and 1 tbsp salt  in the Suvie starch strainer set within the Suvie pasta pot (green handles). Cover pot with lid and place inside the Suvie Starch Cooker, ensuring the pot is centered on the hot plate. Input settings and cook now.

Pasta, 4 cups, 10 minutes 

2) Place 1 lb Italian sausage in a Suvie pan and place in the bottom zone of Suvie. Place 2 pints cherry tomatoes and 2 crushed garlic cloves in a second Suvie pan. Drizzle with 2 tbsp olive oil and season with a large pinch of salt and ground black pepper. Place pan in the top zone of Suvie. Input settings and cook now.

Bottom Zone: Roast at 400°F for 25 minutes 

Top Zone: Roast at 400°F for 25 minutes 

3) Drain the pasta thoroughly and divide between shallow bowls. Spoon cherry tomatoes over the pasta and serve the sausage alongside. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
