Meal Card: Thai Chili Salmon with Rice and Peas

Our Thai chili glaze is sweet and spicy, perfect for drizzling over rich and flaky salmon filets. We pair the fish with fluffy white rice and tender green peas for a variety of textures and flavors. Thai Chili Salmon with Rice and Peas

Ingredients

  • 2-4 (6 oz) salmon filets 
  • 1-2 packets Thai chili sauce 
  • 1-2 packages white rice
  • 1-2 packages green peas 
  • 2-4 packets ponzu sauce

Directions

1) Place packets of Thai chili sauce and ponzu sauce in a bowl of hot water to thaw. If scheduling this meal, place in the refrigerator to thaw.

2) Set a Suvie roasting rack, handles facing up, into a Suvie pan. Open salmon filets and place on top of the roasting rack. Season with 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tsp salt and freshly ground pepper (for 4 servings, use 2 tbsp olive oil and 2 tsp salt). Place pan in the top zone of Suvie.

3) Cut open white rice and pour into a separate Suvie pan. Cut open peas and scatter on top of the white rice. Season with 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt and freshly ground pepper (for 4 servings, season with 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp salt). Place pan in the bottom zone of Suvie.

4) Input settings and cook now. Be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen. 

Suvie Cook Settings

Bottom Zone: Roast at 325°F for 8 minutes (for 4 servings, Roast for 15 minutes)

Top Zone: Roast at 325°F for 18 minutes (for 4 servings, Roast for 25 minutes)

5) Remove pans from Suvie. Set salmon aside to rest for 4 minutes. Fluff white rice and peas with ponzu and season to taste with salt and pepper.

6) Divide rice, peas, and salmon filets between plates. Drizzle Thai chili glaze over the salmon and serve.

I’m new to Suvie and I’m using the 3.0. Which way should I use the roasting rack? Lower or upper position in the pan?

We recommend using the rack in the lower position unless otherwise noted.
