Meal Card: Shawarma-Style Chicken Pita Pockets

Crave-worthy takeout flavors meet healthy, wholesome goodness with our new Shawarma-Style Chicken Pita Pockets. Fluffy and chewy pita pockets are stuffed with plenty of savory shredded chicken, tender peppers and onions, and garlicky parmesan sauce to finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 – 2 packets Garlic Parmesan Sauce
  • 1 – 2 packages Shawarma-Style Chicken 
  • 1 – 2 packages Peppers and Onions
  • 1 – 2 packages Pita Bread

Directions

1) Place garlic parmesan sauce in a bowl of hot water to thaw (or refrigerate if scheduling). Set pita bread aside to thaw.

2) Cut open the shawarma-style chicken and place in a Suvie pan. Place pan in the top zone of Suvie. 

3) Before opening, tap peppers and onions package against the countertop to break up any large pieces. Open and add to a second Suvie pan. Season with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp salt and freshly ground pepper. For 4 servings, season with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp salt, and freshly ground pepper. Place pan in the bottom zone of Suvie. 

4) Input settings and cook now or schedule. 

Suvie Cook Settings

Bottom Zone: Roast at 325°F for 15 mins (for 4 servings, Roast for 20 mins)

Top Zone: Roast at 350°F for 27 minutes (for 4 servings, Roast for 39 mins)

5) When the cook is complete, remove both pans from Suvie. Add the chicken to the pan with the peppers and onions. Return to the bottom zone of Suvie. Wrap the pita bread in aluminum foil and place in the Top Zone.

6) Confirm the 7 minute broil time and broil to warm pitas breads and char chicken. During the broil, massage the garlic parmesan sauce if it has separated until it comes back together. 

7) After the broil, remove pans from Suvie. Cut the pita breads in half and gently open to create a pocket. Fill each pocket with chicken, peppers, and onions, and drizzle with the garlic parmesan sauce.
