Slow Cook Suvie Meals to Set and Forget

Enjoy these long summer days without worrying about what to serve for dinner. This list of delicious meals features Suvie’s slow cook function, allowing you to prepare each dish and set it to cook so that you can have dinner ready on your schedule. Sit back, relax, and let Suvie handle the rest.

1) Garlic Confit Chicken with Carrots

Confit is a classic French technique that was originally used to preserve meats (primarily poultry) in fat. Slow poaching the meat in its own fat slowly evaporates off water and creates an airtight seal once the oil cools. In this recipe, we impart more flavor into the chicken by using olive oil, garlic cloves, and shallots. Braising the carrots with chicken stock and honey adds depth and sweetness.

2) Vegetarian Black Eyed Peas & Collard Greens

This recipe is our vegetarian adaptation of Hoppin’ John, a southern dish traditionally served on New Year’s Day to bring good luck and wealth in the year ahead. The black-eyed peas, vegetables, and collards are simmered until saucy and fragrant. The stew is served over perfectly cooked white rice and alongside fluffy, rich cornbread. Even if you don’t prepare this dish on January 1st, we hope this meal will bring you great fortune any time of year.

3) Chili Con Carne

This classic stew is all about the beef. Tender pieces of chuck roast simmer in a spicy blend of chipotles, jalapeños, onions, garlic, chili powder, and cumin for six hours until perfectly tender. Serve your chili con carne with shredded cheese, cilantro, sour cream, and chopped red onion or any of your favorite garnishes.

4) Indian Vegetable Curry

Indian Vegetable Curry

This delicious and multifaceted curry is filled with a variety of vegetables and punctuated with creamy bites of paneer cheese in a rich tomato-based sauce. Feel free to swap out any vegetables based on your tastes; cauliflower would work well in place of the green beans and sweet potatoes would make a tasty replacement for the potatoes. Serve this delicious curry with steamed basmati rice or warm naan for a complete meal.

5) Kielbasa White Bean Stew

Kielbasa, White Bean & Cabbage Stew

This delicious, comforting, and easy stew is filled with flavor, thanks to smoky kielbasa sausages. As the kielbasa slow cooks, it infuses the stew’s broth with rich flavor. White beans thicken the stew and give it body as it cooks. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and minced herbs for tanginess and freshness that offsets this dish’s savory flavor.

6) Slow Cooked Borscht

This beautifully vibrant borscht is our version of the classic Ukrainian soup and gets its incredible color from fresh beets. We broil the vegetables and aromatics with tomato paste to help build a deep flavor profile and then slowly cook the vegetables and meat in beef broth for a tender and rich spoonful. While the red wine vinegar is optional, the sour cream and fresh dill garnish is a must for truly elevating the soup and balancing out the flavor.

7) Turkey Meatballs & Herbed Cream Sauce

These slow cooked meatballs include tarragon and parsley in the mix, bringing herby brightness to this delicious, classic dish. We’ve used ground turkey to keep the meatball on the leaner side and Italian breadcrumbs for a quick and easy seasoning solution. Feel free to get creative with other herb variations such as dill or thyme to make this dish your own.

8) Monte Cristo Breakfast Strata

Monte Cristo Breakfast Strata

And don’t forget about breakfast! The Monte Cristo sandwich is essentially a fried version of a traditional Croque Monsieur sandwich served with a side of raspberry sauce. Instead of enveloping the ham and cheese between two slices of bread, we’ve turned it into a velvety custard-filled breakfast strata complete with a quick and simple version of that oh-so-delicious raspberry sauce.

9) Cheddar, Chorizo, English Muffin Bake

We’ve transformed the classic breakfast sandwich into a large format breakfast bake fit for a crowd. Schedule this meal the night before and wake up to a warm, cozy, and filling breakfast the whole family will love. We used fully cooked Spanish-style chorizo for this dish because of its lovely smoky aroma and not too spicy flavor.
