Serves 3-4

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Total Cook Time: 3 hours and 30 minutes

This all-American throwback sandwich popped up in the midwest around the 1930s becoming a staple of lunch counters and home kitchens alike. There’s a reason Sloppy Joe’s have remained popular for so long: kids love them and they’re a cinch to whip up. This recipe also uses ingredients you can find around the house and comes together relatively quickly. You can use a skillet to brown the onion, bell pepper, and ground beef if you want to shave off 5 minutes of cook time, but we don’t like to do dishes so we opted to brown everything in our trusty Suvie pans. Choose whatever method works best for you. This recipe makes great leftovers so make sure you save some for lunch tomorrow!

Wine Pairing

Rich, meaty, no-nonsense meals like Sloppy Joe's require a bold and robust wine to match. We recommend a glass of punchy Malbec.
