The Best Appetizers for a Fun and Festive New Year’s Eve Party

Throwing a party? Need some easy, interesting, and downright delicious appetizers to keep your guests happy while the champagne is flowing? This list has plenty of options for any kind of fete. From creamy crab dip to elegant confit leek crostini to sweet apricot tartlets, you can’t go wrong with these bite sized beauties.

1) Cranberry Baked Brie

baked brie

This festive dish is the ideal appetizer no matter the size of your gathering. Soft brie, herbaceous rosemary, tart cranberries, sweet honey, and crunchy pecans all come together in this delicious dip. Leave the pan in your Suvie until you’re ready to serve to ensure the cheese stays soft and spoonable. Serve your baked brie with crostini or crackers for a crunchy counterpoint to all that deliciously gooey cheese.

2) Confit Leek Crostini

These confit leeks are slow cooked in grassy olive oil for two hours until spreadable and soft, making for the perfect crostini topper. The rich oniony flavor of the leeks is balanced by sweet and milky ricotta, which is spread on crisp, toasted baguette slices for crunch. You’ll be left with ample amounts of leek-infused olive oil, which can be used in a myriad of recipes such as in salad dressings or drizzling over vegetables.

3) Creamy Crab Dip

Looking for a simple and elegant appetizer? This hands off creamy crab dip is slow cooked in Suvie, allowing you to tackle other dinner tasks. Tangy cream cheese, spicy Old Bay, and creamy mayo are the ideal counterpoint to the sweet crabmeat. Serve with crackers, crostini, or crudites.

4) Asparagus and Prosciutto Bundles

Serve up a fun, easy, and classy appetizer with these asparagus and prosciutto bundles. We’ve opted for peak season asparagus to put all the flavors of spring on display and paired them with salty prosciutto and tangy Dijon mustard. And with only five ingredients, this recipe really is as simple as it looks!

5) Apricot and Frangipane Tartlets

No-fuss phyllo shells add the perfect amount of crunch and compliment the creamy almond filling in these party-ready and totally poppable tartlets. Fresh apricots lay nestled in sweet and nutty frangipane for a quick take on a pastry classic. And to add a pop of color and a hint of acidity, we snuck in a layer of raspberry jam similar to that found in a bakewell tart

6) Prosciutto Wrapped Blue Cheese Dates

We gave traditional bacon wrapped dates, aka devils on horseback, a major makeover. Each date is stuffed with a combination of cream cheese and blue cheese crumbles for a creamy, flavor-packed filling. Once stuffed, the dates are wrapped in thin slices of prosciutto. Each date is then lightly brushed with maple syrup to aid in crisping the prosciutto and to add a layer of earthy sweetness. This dish is the perfect appetizer for your next gathering.

7) Roasted Shrimp Cocktail

Roasted Shrimp Cocktail

This modified shrimp cocktail recipe is all about infusing flavor. Traditional shrimp cocktail calls for shrimp to be poached or steamed, which is a bit of a missed opportunity in terms of maximizing flavor. By roasting, not only do our shrimp cook evenly and quickly, but the addition of garlic, Old Bay, and lemon further infuses our shrimp with flavor.
