Hash Brown Patty Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients
- 5-8 frozen hash brown patties, defrosted
- 1 lb (8-10) cooked breakfast sausage patties
- 6 oz shredded Monterey jack cheese
- ½ cup sour cream or full fat yogurt
- 8 large eggs
Directions

1) Spray a Suvie pan with cooking spray. Arrange hash browns over the bottom of a Suvie pan (you may need to cut some of them to fit evenly across the bottom of the pan). Layer sausage patties over the hash browns, breaking them up into pieces as needed.

2) In a large bowl, whisk together ½ cup sour cream, 8 eggs, and ½ tsp salt. Pour egg mixture over the sausage patties, pressing down as needed to ensure they are submerged. Top with 6 oz shredded cheese. Place pan in the bottom of Suvie. Input settings and cook now or schedule.

Suvie Cook Settings
Bottom Zone: Roast at 350°F for 45 minutes
Top Zone: None

3) Remove pan from Suvie and allow to cool for 5 minutes before cutting into slices and serving.

The image shows an extra ingredient that is not listed. What is it?
Hi Natalie, looks like milk. We decided with testing that the recipe didn’t need it, and held its shape better without it.
I don’t have a Suvie..can I use a regular baking pan in a regular oven
Hi Paula, we developed this recipe exclusively for Suvie, so unfortunately I’m not sure if it would work in a regular oven.
I do not see why this would not work in a regular oven it’s still being baked just watch your times
This looks like a great holiday morning recipe. Why doesn’t it have the option to schedule?
Hi Anneliese, this recipe can be scheduled in advance. We’ve updated the language. Thanks for catching that.
Hello! Would this recipe work with a different meat like spam, bacon or corned beef hash?
Hi Sydney, yes, definitely! As long as the protein is already cooked you are good to go. If using bacon, I would chop it up first as it might be tough to cut the casserole if the bacon is still in strips.
I would like to point out the discrepancy in the description, the ingredients, and the images. In the description you say sandwiched between hash browns you also call for six to eight hash browns the picture shows less than five and a quarter hash browns and the directions never say to put hash browns on top and the picture of the actual breakfast does not show a layer above the sausage that could be a hash brown so it kind of sucks if you’re going by ingredients after reading real fast you thaw out six to eight hash browns and… Read more »
Hi Sherri, we’ve updated the recipe based on your suggestions. Thanks!
