Quick-cooking ground chicken makes for a speedy and delicious meal. Pad krapow gai is full of savory sweet flavor and features tender chicken and crisp green beans over warm rice. Don’t skimp on the basil leaves, they’re the dishes’ namesake and deliver herbaceous flavor to the savory chicken.
Thai Basil Chicken (Pad Krapow Gai)

Ingredients
- 3 tsp vegetable oil, divided
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 1 birdseye chile, seeded and finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 8 oz green beans, cut into 1″ pieces
- 1 tbsp oyster or golden mountain sauce
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- ½ cup Thai basil leaves
- 2 cups cooked rice, to serve
Directions
1) Combine 2 tsp vegetable oil, shallot, chiles, and garlic. Season with a pinch of salt and place in the bottom zone of Suvie. Roast at 400°F for 10 minutes or until fragrant.
2) Remove pan from Suvie and stir in the chicken, seasoning with ½ tsp kosher salt. Return pan to the top zone of Suvie.

3) Combine 8 oz green beans and 1 tsp vegetable oil in a second Suvie pan. Season with ½ tsp kosher salt and ¼ tsp ground black pepper. Place pan in the bottom zone of Suvie. → Hold the Tap to Scan tag to the logo on the appliance.
Suvie Cook Settings
Bottom Zone: Roast at 400 for 15 minutes
Top Zone: Roast at 400°F for 15 minutes

4) In a small bowl, stir together 2 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 2 tbsp fish sauce, and 1 tbsp lime juice.
5) Remove chicken from Suvie. Chop the meat into smaller pieces with a spoon and stir in the reserved sauce, green beans, and basil leaves. Divide between bowls, serving with rice, if desired.
Chef’s Tip: To speed up the prep, pulse the garlic cloves, chile, and shallot in a food processor until finely chopped.
