We sourced these lava cakes straight from France to bring you the richest, most chocolatey dessert we could find. You have two options to choose from: chocolate or caramel. Order them directly from Suvie to be shipped to your doorstep for easy baking. This recipe includes instructions for 2 lava cakes, but you could easily double this recipe and divide the cakes between 2 pans if desired. Please note that these instructions are for Suvie 2.0.
Suvie Cook Settings: Bake at 400°F for 4 minutes (select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen)
How to Bake Chocolate Lava Cakes in Suvie
Ingredients
2 (3 oz) chocolate lava cakes
Directions
1) Lightly grease a Suvie pan and arrange chocolate lava cakes in the pan. Insert pan into the bottom zone of your Suvie, input settings, and cook now. Be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen.
Suvie Cook Settings
Bottom Zone: Bake at 400°F for 4 minutes (for Suvie 3.0, Bake at 350°F for 4 minutes)
Top Zone: Bake at 0°F for 0 minutes
2) Remove pans from Suvie, divide lava cakes between plates, and serve immediately. Sprinkle with flakey sea salt if desired. Enjoy!
I must be missing something. I followed these instructions and there was no melted center in the lava cake. It was basically just a brownie. The photo on the box clearly shows that there should be a melting liquid center, and explicitly states as much. So the cook must have gone wrong, if this just ended up being a brownie, right?
Hi Bryce, did you select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen? The cook time on Suvie is 4 minutes.
Yes, I did. It added 19 min to the overall time on the next screen, and then when I hit “cook now” it started a timer from 30 min.
It’s doing the same thing for me now. I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out
I got the same thing too Bryce and James. It goes from 4 minutes to 19 minutes when you set cook from frozen to “Yes”. But then it overrides the 19 minutes with 30 minutes for some unknown reason. Guessing software bug?
I made a little walk-through video to show the issue. Not sure if any of the admins or devs might find it useful.

Hi Ginger, the engineering team is aware of this issue and is working actively to fix it. Thanks!
Has the issue been fixed?
The instructions state to thaw the cakes before cooking, but then select yes for cooking from frozen…is this correct?
Hi Alex, we recommend cooking the Lava Cakes from frozen for best results. We have updated the recipe. Thanks!
We also experience the same as you did no lava in the middle of the cake. But it was a good chocolate brownie! But not for the price!
We just received our Suvie and our first food order. Overall the packaging of the food (pre planned meals) was good. However, the items like the chocolate lava cake came with no cooking instructions for the Suvie… which led me to this blog. Has the 4 minute cooking issued been fixed or should I cook the lava cake in my conventional oven, like the direction on the box indicate?
Hi Edward, yes, please follow these instructions to bake at 400°F for 4 minutes and be sure to select “Yes” when asked if cooking from frozen.
Thank you!
Nope, doesn’t work!!! I can’t set the time for 4 minutes. The lowest timer I have for baking from frozen is 15 minutes.
Hi Edward, is your software up to date? I just input these settings on my own Suvie and was able to bake for 4 minutes (please note that when you instruct Suvie to cook from frozen it will automatically add 15 minutes to the cook time, so the total time listed on the Suvie will be 19 minutes).
So where is the lava???
4 min 350 cook from frozen “bottom”.
This was perfect!
Quench with some ice cream:)
