Need a quick, easy, and fun appetizer to serve on game day? This recipe for full loaded pretzel bites takes frozen store bought pretzels to the next level. We loved the combination of fresh scallions and smoky bacon with our pretzel bites, but pickled jalapeños, thinly sliced red onion, or sauteed chorizo would taste equally delicious. 

Loaded Pretzel Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) bag frozen pretzel bites
  • ½ cup light beer 
  • ½ tsp mustard powder 
  • 2 tsp cornstarch 
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 6 oz shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 3 scallions, sliced
  • ¼ cup crumbled, cooked bacon

Directions

1) Place frozen pretzel bites in an even layer in a Suvie pan. Place pan in the top zone of Suvie. 

2) In a second Suvie pan, whisk together ½ cup beer, ½ tsp mustard powder, and 2 tsp cornstarch until smooth. Add 4 oz cream cheese and 6 oz shredded monterey jack cheese. Place pan in the bottom zone of Suvie.

3) Input settings and cook now or schedule, whisking sauce halfway through

Suvie Cook Settings

Bottom Zone: Roast at 450°F for 20 minutes

Top Zone: Roast at 400°F for 10 minutes 

4) After the cook, remove pans from Suvie. Whisk cheese sauce to fully emulsify. Transfer pretzel bites to a serving platter. Drizzle cheese sauce over the pretzels and garnish with scallions and bacon.
