Garlic Shrimp with Broccoli

This recipe is for all the garlic lovers out there. We love garlic as much as anyone and shrimp with its mildly sweet taste is a perfect vehicle for it. Tossed with a simple garlic-butter sauce this shrimp, broccoli, and pasta dish is simple enough for any weeknight. Break out the white wine and get ready for those warm summer evenings and let Suvie take care of dinner.

Garlic Shrimp with Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp melted butter, divided
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz broccoli florets
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Salt and pepper shrimp then vacuum seal with 1 tbsp butter and place in Suvie pan. Fill the pan with enough water to cover shrimp and place into upper right zone of Suvie.

Add broccoli to another Suvie pan and insert into upper left zone. 

Pour penne into starch pan. Load starch pan into Suvie.

Fill the reservoir with water. Enter My Cook settings and cook or schedule.

My Cook Settings

Protein: 125°F for 30 minutes

Vegetable: 9 minutes

Starch: 10 minutes

Once cook is complete remove the shrimp from the Suvie pan and set aside. Pat Suvie pan dry, add remaining 2 tbsp butter, garlic cloves minced, lemon juice and red pepper flakes if using. Return pan to Suvie. 

Pour off any water in the broccoli pan. Toss broccoli with 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste then return to Suvie. Broil both pans for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

During the broil, remove shrimp from vacuum-sealed bag and pat dry. Add to a large mixing bowl. After the broil, add broccoli and butter-garlic sauce to the bowl. Toss to combine then distribute between plates.
